If you're struggling with anxiety, we're here to help. Our therapists are trained in a brain-based treatments including EMDR, Hypnosis, and Vagus Nerve strategies that can be used in addition to Cognitive Behavior Therapy Strategies. Our therapist work to resolve what drives the anxiety and not just treat the symptom with coping strategies. However, the client choses the modalities they are most comfortable with, and their choices drives, the development of the treatment plan.
Depression can make it difficult to enjoy life and engage in activities you once loved. Our therapists are here to help you overcome depression and develop a more positive outlook on life. Peaceful Heart takes a whole person approach to treating depression by considering all aspects of the individual life such as diet, medical conditions, medications they take, exercise, and etc working with other providers like the Family Doctor or medical specialist that are needed to address things like possible hormone and vitamin deficiencies. Many times, the answer to depression is more complicated than the individual is feeling sad and needs to increase their activity level.
If you've experienced trauma, it's important to seek help from a qualified therapist who understands trauma and how it impacts the brain. Our trauma therapists are trained in modalities that include both process and content, so aspects of the trauma are addressed in respected to both right and left side of the brain. Some of the popular modalities only focus on the left side of the brain addressing only what the trauma is and how to think differently about it without approaching the emotions or the questions that arise that make it difficult for a individual to understand themselves. When there is a lot a dissociation connected to a trauma, treatment has to occur in phases so that stabilization can occur at different points. Trauma education is also important both for the individual and those closest to them, so they can heal in a supportive environment.
Relationships are an important part of our lives, but they can also be challenging. Many individuals struggle with relational trauma and have never been in a safe relationship. Our relationship therapists focus only on trauma related relationship counseling which involves hurt caused in a relationship because the partners are triggering trauma in each other. In these situations, the therapist has to understand trauma and how to repair it safely within the relationship. Frequently traditional relationship strategies are not effective or even damaging when trauma is involved.
